Oxford to Host $7,000 to Win Enduro Race on April 27th

The 2014 inaugural edition of the $7,000 to win, Colossal Carnage 150 Enduro scheduled for Sunday, April 27th at Oxford Plains Speedway (ME) is quickly approaching. With entries being received daily, this event is sure to be a home run for the racers and the race fans alike. The event will feature street cars with the windows knocked out, and a few safety modifications added to the vehicles. There are no yellow flags in this event, as only the green, red, black and checkered flags will be waved. The pits will open at 7am, and tech will follow at 7:15am. Post time is 1:30pm.

Feature Racing at South Alabama Begins This Saturday Night
Tracks – 4/15/14
South Alabama Speedwway will begin their "points-counting" schedule on Saturday night, April 19, with seven divisions of racing on the card.  Super Stock's, Modifieds, Street Stocks, Roadrunners, Coyotoes, Mini-Sportsman, and Cuplite cars will all be in action.  Pit gates open at 3pm, main gates open at 5pm, and racing begins at 7pm.

Starting Times, Purses, and Handicapping Boosted at Beech Ridge

Beech Ridge Motor Speedway (ME) announced on Monday changes to the starting times, purse structure, and handicapping for their weekly NASCAR Whelen All American Series “NASCAR-Nite” program.

NASCAR Nites on Saturday nights from May 24 through August 30 will begin at 7 pm, compared to the previous start times of 6:00 pm or 6:30 pm.  Purse structures for all divisions have also been boosted with winners taking home, on average, an extra 35%.  Top-10 drivers will have their purse increased by an average of 50% for the 2014 season.  Pro Series and Wildcat teams will now use the same qualifying procedure as the Sport Series with drivers racing for starting position in their features.

Airborne to Host Eight "Bonus" Races for Modifieds in 2014

There will be an open-wheel civil war at Airborne Park Speedway (NY) this summer.  The historic race track will provide the coliseum as two divisions of Modified stock car gladiators converge in a battle at more than 100 miles per hour during an eight-race showdown.  Drivers and cars from the DIRTcar-sanctioned Modified class will be eligible to race against teams from the NASCAR-sanctioned Sportsman Modified division in a set of eight “bonus” feature races throughout the summer season.  The races will be run as a supplement to the regular 11-race DIRTcar Modified schedule at Airborne and will allow that division’s star competitors to race every week at their home track.

Mother Nature Wins Big 8 Series Opener

The 2014 season for the Big 8 Series got off to a wet start as afternoon showers prevented the race from taking the green flag.  Series officials announced the rainout along with that the event will not be rescheduled.  Their next event will be on Monday, May 26th at Columbus 151 Speedway in Columbus, Wisconsin.

Three Wins for Rocco is a Waterford First Since 1960
Tracks – 4/14/14
Wallingford, Connecticut racer Keith Rocco won the three marquee features Sunday at Waterford Speedbowl.  The three race wins marked the first time a driver had picked up three victories on the same day since Don Collins did it on June 6, 1960.  Rocco won the 50-lap Late Model race, the 64-lap SK Modified feature as well as the 100-lap Valenti Modified Racing Series headline event.

Rogers to Pilot Crooks SLM in Easter Bunny 150

Monday, Clay Rogers announced on his social media streams that he will be piloting the GRIP Seminars No. 68 for Crooks Racing in the PASS South Easter Bunny 150 at Hickory Motor Speedway on April 19.  Rogers has two career PASS South victories to his credit, both coming in back-to-back events at South Boston (VA) and Ace (NC) Speedways in 2011.
